Role: As part of our engineering team, you will deliver engineering support to multiple government clients within the defense industry. You will work on complex technical problems, provide solutions, and guide system development into a final product. You will apply knowledge of the systems engineering field across one or more components of the system development life cycle (SDLC), including concept development, technical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal. You will participate in system engineering technical reviews (SETRs), system certification processes, and specialty engineering activities. The successful candidate for this position will serve as a key member of a distributed team of system engineers tasked as Lead Engineer for a Navy cybersecurity program.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with systems engineering within the DoD
- Experience with providing Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) for SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PRR, and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
- Experience within the field of network security / boundary protection, cybersecurity, cyber analytics, and threat analytics
- Experience with planning, organizing, completing and presenting assessments of National Security/Cybersecurity related concepts, analyses, studies and procedures
- Experience implementing Risk Management and Systems Engineering processes across Navy Program of Record (PoR) solutions
- Experience with CMPro, producing and managing Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and supporting Configuration Management processes for various baselines. Must be able to articulate various as-is / to-be designs with APM and APM-E
- Experience with Information Assurance tools such as Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Expertise with transition of DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) to Risk Management Framework (RMF) as implemented by the Department of the Navy
- Understanding of Top Secret and Below Interoperability (TSABI)/ Secret and Below Interoperability (SABI) Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Processes and experience developing artifacts that support the CDS approval process for production systems
- Experience with utilizing and applying Security Classification Guides (SCG) across various Navy networks (such as IT-21, CANES, ONE-Net)
- Understanding of Navy Shore and Expeditionary Network Architectures
- Possession of excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills to APMs and above
- Effective written and verbal communication skills resulting in the ability to achieve consensus in resolving problems in all phases of acquisition life-cycle with all stakeholders
- Thorough understanding of the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle Management Framework and associated processes
- Working understanding of secure software development and assessment
- Working knowledge of government processes and practices involved with safeguarding classified information
- BS degree (engineering-related)
- Cybersecurity certification in any of the following is required: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or Associate), or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
- Travel required: Less than 20%
